    In our personal search to help Heisman with his mobility problems, we decided to offer top quality dog ramps made by Solvit to other Greyhound owners who have aging kids like Heisman was.  Heisman was 12 1/2 and our eldest Greyhound who was diagnosed with Wobbler's back in February 2004.  Sadly, Heisman left us in October, 2007 due to complications of end stage Wobbler's but for the time he was with us, our Solvit ramp was a blessing.  Although Heisman is no longer with us, we still continue to use our ramp for our other three Greyhounds, Ashley, LuLu and Patrick.
    Veterinarians worldwide recommend using dog ramps for dogs regardless of age or health to prevent injuries to hips, joints and spines. Greyhounds are no different.  Lifting them can cause unnecessary pain and possible injury to them and to you.  Jumping in and out of vehicles can cause unnecessary wear on those body parts already pounded by years of racing.  Going up and down steps can cause injury especially if they have been diagnosed with Cauda Equina Syndrome aka Degenerative Lumbosacral Stenosis, Intervertebral Disc Disease aka Wobbler's, Arthritis, limb amputation, stroke or another type of mobility problem.
